Welcome to our Website

The Association was founded in 1953 to enable former pupils of St. Michael’s School,
Ingoldisthorpe, to keep in touch with the school (until its closure in July 1969) and each other
through general correspondence, newsletters, meetings, annual reunions, social media and our
website.
As such, all former pupils and staff are automatically members of the Association and our
aim is to keep touch with as many of you as possible - provided, of course, that you keep us up
to date with your postal/or email addresses, etc. We used to charge an annual subscription
to cover the cost of producing and posting newsletters, but now that we mainly send
newsletters, etc., to members by email, it was decided, recently, that with considerably lower
outgoings/expenditure we no longer needed to do so.

We are still in touch with over 150 Old Michaelians, worldwide,and we continue to produce
newsletters and have an Annual Reunion weekend in October – usually over the weekend that
the clocks go back. On the Saturday we hold our AGM in the afternoon and our Dinner that
evening at the Heacham Manor Hotel, in Heacham, and on the Sunday morning we have our
reunion service at St. Michael’s & All Angels Church, in Ingoldisthorpe.

To Old Michaelians who have not been in touch for many years, you might wish to know that
the Rev (Canon) Roger Pott, our Headmaster and founder of the school, died in December
1992.  His wife, Isabel, died 1st October 2002 and, sadly, their son, Andrew, died following a
short illness in April 2020. Happily, Simon and Caroline survive them.

The Old Michaelian Association now has an Australia Branch, which was formed with the help
of Les Roberts (1955 – 58) and they held their first Reunion at the Blue Gum Hotel, Waitara,
Sydney, on 9th October 2004. Do take a look at their page.
