Reunion 2023

Annual Reunion Weekend

28th/29th October 2023

We had a most enjoyable weekend and, overall, the weather was pretty kind
to us.
On the Saturday, we gathered in the Pavilion Bar for a chat and a drink and
enjoyed lunchtime refreshments which were available. Later, at 3.30pm we
held our Annual General Meeting, which was fairly well attended, and then at
7.15pm pm we gathered for drinks prior to our Dinner at 8pm.
In all 37 members and spouses/guests attended the Dinner, which was very
good, and we also had a very successful raffle. Our thanks to everyone who
took part and to those who kindly donated raffle prizes and to Geraldine
Ellison for providing the main prize of a hamper to her helpers. We were all
having such a good evening that we forgot to take any photographs!
Those of us that stayed at the hotel enjoyed preferential room breakfast
rates.
On the Sunday, a good number of us joined the parishioners of St Michael’s
All Angels Church, Ingoldisthporpe, for our Reunion Service. We outnumbered
the parishioners on this occasion! The celebrant was Benedict Gunner’s wife
Susannah, to whom our thanks go and Ben was due to play the organ but the
regular organist turned up.

Elaine (Clarke) Humby and Frank Dixon were also due to attend but both
were unwell and in hospital that week. We are pleased to report that both
made a good recovery and were discharged from hospital a few days later.
